To be honest, December snuck up on me. Finally some things have settled in my life, and I feel like I have space to be creative again, which is a lovely feeling. I don’t have any big exciting news or publications really, but here are some recent small joys of a small author:
Encouragements from writer friends on news:
Someone out of the blue asked to interview me and I was pleased to hear they bought the book at my local bookstore - people are still buying it! Yay! (Interview link coming soon!)
Feeling like writing again! Wrote a few thousand words of my novel while stuck at a Starbucks-inside-a-gym when waiting for someone.
That feeling when your writer friend catches up on your Substack all at once and comments on and/or likes every single one (thanks, Stephen lol)! (This is your sign to leave a comment, reply to an email, or like a post… it makes my day every single time).
All of Chill Subs publications and newsletters are spot-on all the time and so real and make me feel better about this writing life every day.
My interview with my illustrator Amber for HNDL Mag came out! Read the full issue here it’s gorgeous. Our joint interview is on page 64.
And seeing your book on a shelf (next to a friend’s book - order Three Minute Hero by Craig Terlson!) never gets old.
Share some of your writerly/creative/holiday joy in the comments.
Happy December!
Alyssa
Oh wow I didn't think about the fact that you would get that many notifications at once x) I was actually waiting for a date to arrive that never showed up and so I used that time to finally catch up on as many as I could x)
